Attached Book Review

I would not put this one in “I love this book” category and yet I would highly recommend you to read it.

More than a book, Attached is a toolkit for people with different attachment styles – Anxious, Avoidant & Secure.

Being someone with an anxious attachment style, secured style does seem imaginary. I align more with what a friend pointed out recently – we flow from on attachment style to another more smoothly depending on context/phase of life we are in.

The books suggests quite the opposite, it says that our attachment style can change only once in three-four year. If we do peek into recent literature, we will learn how attachment styles are actually more fluid and we keep shifting in between them often.

Despite this one part of the book which irked me a little, I enjoyed every other bit. The book works as a toolkit to help you understand different attachment styles better and also offers effective strategies which could help you make your relationships more safe, comfortable and intimate.

P.S. You can find out your attachment style here by taking this quiz.

I will start reading It Didn’t Start with You by Mark Wolynn next, stay tuned if you’d like to learn more about inherited trauma.

Tell me what are you reading in comments.
